Day&Night
Day & Night blinds (also known as Zebra / Duo roller blinds) are one of the most practical yet still very “interior-friendly” sun-shading solutions—especially when you want the effect of both sheer and more private coverage in a single product. The fabric consists of alternating transparent and denser horizontal stripes. By shifting these layers relative to each other, you can precisely control the light: from a soft, diffused glow to strong privacy and reduced glare.
The key advantage of Day & Night is that it works without constantly lifting the blind. You lower it to the desired height, and then adjust the light transmission simply by aligning or offsetting the stripes. When the transparent stripes line up, more light comes through (a light “sheer” effect). When the denser stripes overlap the transparent ones, you get more privacy and noticeable dimming. It’s perfect for rooms where you want to “fine-tune” daylight throughout the day without making the space fully dark.
Most often, Day & Night systems are installed directly on the window sash (so each section of the window can open independently), or inside the recess / on the wall or ceiling when you want one blind to cover the entire opening. For sash installation, a bottom фиксація (guide wire/magnets) is often added so the fabric stays close to the glass when the window is tilted for ventilation. Operation is typically chain-controlled, intuitive, and smooth—you can easily find the exact light setting you want.
In terms of fabrics, Day & Night options range from very light and airy (for soft daylight and a gentle look) to denser materials that provide stronger privacy. There are also blackout-style versions, but it’s worth noting an important nuance: because of the stripe construction, achieving a true 100% blackout is usually harder than with classic blackout roller blinds. In return, you get much more flexible light control without the simple “up/down” limitation.
Visually, Day & Night blinds look clean and modern. They work beautifully in minimalist, Scandinavian, modern classic, and loft interiors—anywhere you want a neat window finish without heavy textiles. They’re especially popular for kitchens, home offices, kids’ rooms, and living rooms, where you need a balance: light and openness during the day, and privacy in the evening.
Like many roller systems, Day & Night blinds can also be fitted with motorization—controlled by a switch or remote (and sometimes via “morning/evening” automation scenarios). This is especially convenient for large windows, panoramic glazing, or simply when you want maximum comfort with minimal effort.
